Punta Campanella - Mount San Costanzo

Monte San Costanzo offers all at once a view of the Bay of Naples with the Vesuvio, a view of the bay of Salerno with the Amalfi Coast and you can almost touch the Isle of Capri.

Also this excursion starts from the little square of Termini a small and lovely village of Massalubrense.
Walking down the ancient path of Venus, named like this because it was the way to go towards the temple of the goddess Venus that was situated at the end of Punta Campanella, it is impossible to miss a wonderful view of the Isle of Capri and the unique bay of Ieranto. The beautiful colour blue of the sea and the green of the Mediterranean Vegetation will follow us all the way. In this area it is possible to find the rare "Lithodora Rosmarinifolia", endemic plant of the Sorrentine Peninsula.
During the middle ages this area was considered a strategic position for a watch tower, (today still there) so the locals could defend themselves from the attacks of the Saracen pirates. In few ours this little path will offer wonderful views, natural beauties, history and mythology. Arrived at the end of the path it is possible to continue the walk all the way up to  Monte San Costanzo. The begining of the path is quite easy, but the last part needs a bit more of attention and work, since we are passing through the limestone rocks. Once arrived all the way up to the top a wonderful view of the bay of Naples, the Bay of Salerno and chain of the monti Lattari from the chapel dedicated to San Costanzo will please you from the hard work.
